How does Vento protect my financial data?
All your financial data — expenses, budgets, goals, categories — is stored locally on your device in a SQLite database. We architecturally cannot access it because it never touches our servers. If you enable cloud backup, it uses AES-256 end-to-end encryption via your personal Google Drive account. The encryption keys stay on your device.
Does Vento work without internet?
Yes. Vento is built local-first, meaning every feature works completely offline — adding transactions, viewing analytics, managing budgets, and tracking goals. You don't need an internet connection for anything. Cloud sync only activates when you explicitly enable it, and it syncs in the background when connected.
Is Vento a good alternative to Mint or YNAB?

What happens to my data if I uninstall Vento?
Since all data is stored locally on your device, uninstalling the app will remove your data. That's why we recommend enabling Google Drive backup — if you ever reinstall, you can manually restore your encrypted data from your personal Drive in the app settings. We never keep a copy on our servers.
